SERVING ENERGY, LAUGHTER & GOALS SINCE 2019

What Is Catchball?

Catchball originated in Israel in the early 2000s as an accessible, team-based alternative to volleyball. Designed to make competitive sport more welcoming — especially for women entering or returning to athletics later in life — it replaces traditional spikes with catching and throwing the ball over the net.

What started as a grassroots movement quickly grew into organized leagues and international tournaments, empowering thousands of women to compete, connect, and rediscover their athletic edge.
Nowadays Catchball is popular nationwide and around the globe, and is also known as Kadureshet (כדורשת, Israel), Throwball (थ्रोबॉल, India), Cachibol (Mexico) and Качебол (Eastern Europe).
Catchball promotes a healthier lifestyle and offers women the opportunity to socialize and meet friends through an empowering activity in a recreational environment and every woman over the age of 25 is welcome to join.

ABOUT US

DreamCatchers is a member of SeattleNet League in Seattle, Washington and USA Catchball Association, which includes more than 20 states across the United States. Since our formation in 2019, DreamCatchers Seattle has grown into one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading women’s Catchball teams. While we’re proud of our many first-place wins, the award that means the most to us is the 2025 Best Teamwork Award by USA Catchball Association, because it reflects who we truly are.

DreamCatchers conducts structured training sessions with a coach twice a week, following a consistent schedule designed to ensure steady athletic and tactical development. Each practice emphasizes the acquisition and refinement of new technical skills, the improvement of physical conditioning, and the strengthening of the teamwork. The team actively participates on a regular basis in both local friendly tournaments, which provide opportunities to strengthen community ties and practice teamwork, as well as in highly competitive regional and national tournaments, where the athletes test their skills against stronger opponents and strive for top results.

Since the establishment of the SeattleNet Competitive League in 2023, DreamCatchers has demonstrated consistent excellence by placing high in every season. Competing against other strong local teams, the athletes have maintained a record of sustained success, reflecting their commitment to disciplined training, strategic gameplay, and continuous development both individually and collectively.

The team also takes part annually in the USA Catchball Nationals.  Since its founding, the team has achieved excellent results in national and regional competitions, consistently earning top placements.

What impact do we have on the community?
Our vision is to widen and unite the women’s community by creating a space where every woman feels a true sense of belonging, connection, and empowerment. Through Catchball, we bring women together and build a powerful platform for meaningful relationships, support, and growth that extends far beyond the court.
